Erin Huebert, Phd

Erin Huebert, PhD started HIR to provide non-profits and the public sector with an independent and comprehensive approach to research and evaluation that has the potential to generate greater impact.

Erin has nearly 20 years of experience conducting impact-driven research and evaluation.  Most recently, she was the Principal Researcher at Leanlab Education where she led the creation of a research program that served education technology clients from across the globe looking to evaluate and scale the potential impact of their products in public schools settings. 

Before this, she spent 8 years in an academic setting learning and conducting mixed-methods research on the politics of developing countries and politically marginalized groups. Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national conferences. As an instructor at the Tecnològico de Monterrey in Guadalajara, Mexico and at the University of Colorado Boulder, she has cultivated a passion for teaching classes on social science research methods, public policy, and the economy.  

Erin began her career as a social worker in Wichita, Kansas working in public schools and in non-profits that directly served refugees and immigrants.  She worked as an advocate and community organizer in Chicago on public policies related to economic mobility and human rights.

Erin received her Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Colorado at Boulder.  She also holds a Masters of Arts degree in Social Work and a Masters of Public Policy from the University of Chicago.  She received a Bachelors of Science degree in Social Work from Bethel College in North Newton, Kansas.  She lives with her family in Kansas City.
